FAQ
-
For all those who are looking for something very special. For knife lovers, for (hobby)chefs, for people looking for high-quality, unusual gifts, for technology enthusiasts, for innovators, for collectors.
-
3D-printed knives are innovative per se because they are manufactured using one of the most innovative processes currently available. This process is a 4.0 sintering technology. We use the metal powder bed process in particular because it currently enables the highest quality and grade.
-
Our knives can be even better in terms of ergonomics, handling, functionality and sharpness due to the almost unlimited formal possibilities that technology offers us.
-
Japanese knives, such as Santoku or Tojiro, are famous above all for their consistent design and their blade hardness of over 60 Rockwell and are therefore rightly regarded as the best knives in the world. We have the ambition to become better than our Japanese role models.
In terms of hardness, this cannot yet be fully achieved with 3D printing. However, our knives made from the less hard materials have a very high degree of toughness, which gives them a very high degree of sharpness. Some of the most modern coatings will also make it possible to offer the hardest blades in the future.
Our knives must all pass the "paper test", i.e. they must be able to cut very easily into a loosely held sheet of paper.
-
Yes, our knives are made entirely from a metal alloy - from the blade to the handle. They are manufactured in one piece.
-
Sintered knives can be heavier or lighter than conventional knives - depending on how they were conceived and designed. We have designed our knives so that they use as little material as possible and are well balanced in the hand. If this is the case, the weight plays a subordinate role.
-
Some of the materials we use can rust; these are the carbon-containing, harder materials, such as tool steel. The materials Inconel and CoCrW, on the other hand, do not rust. Please bear this in mind when selecting products!
-
All knives are currently available in one size each. We will soon be offering all knives in different sizes and in right- and left-handed versions.
-
We give you a standard guarantee of one year on the product as long as it has been used properly and in accordance with the product. As our knives are also subject to wear and tear during use, the cutting edge must be sharpened at certain intervals. There is therefore no permanent guarantee on the sharpness of a knife, as this is subject to wear and tear.
-
Always have your knife sharpened by a professional to avoid damaging the blade or cutting edge. If you would like to sharpen your knife yourself, we have put together a few tips for you (available soon). We will also be happy to do this for you.
-
Our business model is also very sustainable here, as we do not mass produce and therefore do not keep products in stock. The products are manufactured specifically on customer request. Other suppliers are involved in this on-demand process, who take up a minimum time window. Nevertheless, we always try to keep the delivery time as short as possible.
-
Yes, we offer you the option of labeling your knife with your special logo, name, icon or small image. The graphic is applied to the knife using a laser process. Please ask us what is possible.
